奇跡は起こるんだなぁと思った。医療用語は英語で覚えておいた方がいいよ。普段はあまり使わないけど、友人が急に病気になったりとか思わぬところで使うようになるんで。

I lived with that diagnosis all day. Later that evening I had a biopsy, where they stuck an endoscope down my throat, through my stomach and into my intestines, put a needle into my pancreas and got a few cells from the tumor. I was sedated, but my wife, who was there, told me that when they viewed the cells under a microscope the doctors started crying because it turned out to be a very rare form of pancreatic cancer that is curable with surgery. I had the surgery and I’m fine now.

動詞が　put なのに注意

got a few cells from the tumor  腫瘍から細胞を採取した

I was sedated  穏やかにさせられた　だけどこの場合は、麻酔をかけられていたじゃないかな。オックスフォード類義語辞典には　類義語として　anaesthetize もあがってる。 鎮静剤を投与されるという意味もある

they viewed the cells under a microscope  細胞を顕微鏡でみた

that is curable with surgery. 手術で治る　

前置詞は　by じゃなくて　with になることに注意

その日一日、この診断と向き合いました。その日の夜に生体検査を受けました。内視鏡を喉から胃、腸へと通し、膵臓に針を刺して、腫瘍から数個の細胞を採取しました。私は麻酔をかけられていましたが、その場にいた妻によると、細胞を顕微鏡で見たときに医師が泣き出したそうです。手術で治る非常に稀な膵臓癌であることが判明したからです。手術を受け、今は元気です。
