ベンジャミンは早足で歩き出し、すぐに走り始めた。彼らに思い知らせてやるんだ！ハーバード大学に行ってやって、悪意に満ちた嘲笑を後悔させてやるんだ。

ボルチモア行きの列車に無事に乗り込んだ彼は、窓から頭を出すと「あとで後悔するぞ！」と叫んだ。
