　その敏感さは、いわゆる「創造性」と呼ばれるような壊れそうなもろい心のことじゃない。むしろ大いなる希望に溢れ、いつでも愛や情熱を感じ取ることに長けていた。そんな男は見たことが無かったし、これからも会えないような気がする。

A romantic readiness は「恋に落ちる準備ができてます」って意味かと思った。でもそう訳すと、ギャッツビーが浮気性の男になってしまい小説の筋から離れていくので、愛や情熱を感じ取ることがうまいとしてみた。
